Our Mastermind

Troy Michael is the owner and founder of Crowned Pageantry LLC and has spent more than 15 years in the pageant industry as a competitor, coach, stylist, and director.

Troy currently serves as the Executive State Director of the Miss Alaska Volunteer and Miss Alaska Teen Volunteer Scholarship Pageants, where he is committed to developing confident titleholders, creating meaningful opportunities for young women, and advancing the organization’s five points of service: scholarship, education, responsibility, volunteerism, and empowerment.

Prior to his current role, Troy served as the Executive State Director of Miss Alaska USA and Miss Alaska Teen USA from 2024–2026. During his tenure, he worked to expand opportunities and experiences for contestants, culminating in the largest prize package in Miss Alaska Teen USA history, highlighted by a four-year university tuition scholarship valued at approximately $115,000.

His experience spans numerous pageant systems, including Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, Miss America, Miss World, National American Miss, and international male pageantry. As a coach and stylist, Troy has worked with contestants across divisions and systems, specializing in interview preparation, personal branding, wardrobe selection, and evening gown styling. His approach extends beyond preparing contestants to win a crown—he focuses on helping each client discover what makes them distinctive and communicate it with confidence and authenticity.

In 2023, Troy made pageant history when he captured the international title of Mr. Gay World in Cape Town, South Africa. His victory made him the first American and first Black man to win the title, giving him firsthand experience competing—and succeeding—on an international stage.

Troy’s work within the pageant industry has also earned recognition from Pageant Planet, including being named the Most Inspirational Pageant Coach in the World and receiving additional recognition among the industry's top coaches and directors.

Beyond pageantry, Troy is a REALTOR®, author, mental health and suicide prevention advocate, and television personality. In 2026, he joined the cast of FOX's hit competition series The Floor, hosted by Rob Lowe, competing during the show's sixth season, Season of Champions.

Mental health advocacy remains an important part of Troy's work and the philosophy behind Crowned Pageantry. He believes pageantry should develop the person beneath the crown and that no contestant's worth should ever be determined by a score, placement, title, or social media commentary.

Through Crowned Pageantry, Troy continues to coach, style, mentor, and develop contestants with one goal in mind: helping every client walk onto the stage knowing exactly who they are—with or without a crown.

The Team.

Our vision.

Our mission.

Our mission is to discover our client’s true potential through self-purity, truth, and authenticity. We believe that deep down everyone has a purpose. Our goal is to help our clients find that purpose and transform that cause into a meaningful platform. When fashion collides with vulnerability, possibilities are limitless.

We are proud to represent a variety of clients: women, men, transgender, and drag queens. Male pageantry is on the rise in the United States, and we are happy to represent men in various different pageant systems. Also, we take pride in encouraging transgender women to compete and maximize their true potential. Transgender women, as well as Drag Queens, are beautiful, intelligent, and we are so proud to be a LGBTQ friendly business who actively promotes and represents the entire community.
